Summary
Elite Construction of New York was founded in 2011 by partners Michael Reed, CCM, and Eze O. Small, CFM. Michael, Elite’s CEO, and Eze, Elite’s President, have worked together for over 10 years on many complex building projects across the New York Tri State region.
Mike and Eze’s rapid success and growing business brought into focus the gaps in their overall digital presence, from their website to their social media accounts. Elite’s website was dated and used technology that had reached obsolescence and was no longer supported by many browsers, resulting in an error or frozen page on load. Further, the company’s social presence was limited to the personal accounts of the principles, with no company presence, per se.
One 8 & Company was hired to design and launch a new website and design a social media presence consistent with Elite’s values, brand, and Veteran Owned / Minority Certified business enterprise.
Process
Elite had lots of high quality content and imagery on its original website, but the age and technology used to create it posed a unique challenge to the One 8 team: how to harvest content we couldn’t see. Using advanced discovery techniques, the team was able to recover nearly all of the old content to use as a starting point. From there, the team performed multiple interviews with the principles and other key players, learning about Elite’s unique story and culture, and began writing new engaging content while keeping a keen eye on the site’s SEO performance.
On the social side, the team began immediately setting up company accounts across multiple social media platforms, and started the process of mapping our a social calendar, gathering key content that would serve as “baseline” posts, while working with Elite’s team to allow rapid deployment of spotlight posts highlighting Elite’s successes.
Results
Another pleased client who is watching their social media presence grow and enjoying the fruits of a modern, responsive website.
Conclusion
Sometimes success at the front lines makes us forget about the foundational principles that got us there. In Elite’s case, their organic growth was fueled by an outstanding reputation, precision work, and strong values, but their marketing engine had stalled. Fortunately, by partnering with One 8 & Company, they were able to recover and reuse years worth of quality data, copy, and content, and elevate it to another level.
